Mean Soup was written by Betsy Everitt, and translated into Chinese.
It has been a bad day for Horace. A very tough day. It seems everything did not turn out right, so he came home feeling mean and started throwing temper. Mommy saw but did not admonish or probe. Instead, she led him to the kitchen and "cure" him by teaching him how to make "Mean Soup". His anger vanished. Read the book to find out what she did.
This is a great book on anger management. Some kids may not be able to express their feeling well, and instead resort to kicking and screaming. Parents can use this book to discuss with their kid about handling anger and to act out their frustration in a positive and fun way. Perhaps when the child is angry, teach your kid to tell mommy, "Ma, can you cook me the Mean Soup?" :)
This book is in hard cover. A very simple storyline with one liner per page. For reading to the kid, this book may suit children of 4 and above. For self-read, we would recommend this book for children above 8. A book that you can keep and read with your kid over and over again as he/she grows up.
