Madeline is the children's book series written by an Austrian author, Ludwig Bemelmans in 1939. There are 6 books in the original series and this is the first book. The story takes place in a Catholic boarding school in Paris. There are 12 girls in the school, and Madeline is the youngest. She is jovial, lively, and the most well-loved character. One day, Madeline got appendicitis and was rushed to the hospital to have appendix removed. She was hospitalised for almost 10 days and her schoolmates misses her terribly.
