Goodnight, Gorilla is an English original, written by Peggy Rathmann in 1953. This book is the chinese translated version.
The Story
One evening, a young gorilla steals the keys from a sleepy zoo keeper. The mischievous gorilla follows the keeper on his night rounds and lets out various zoo’s animals including an elephant, giraffe, a lion, and more. After the rounds are finished, the animals follow him to his house. Each animal walks into his bedroom where his wife is sleeping. The zookeeper is too tired to notice. His wife wishes him goodnight expecting a single reply when all of the other animals respond too. Upon realizing this, the wife escorts all of the animals out of the room back to their cages.
A brilliantly funny story. Parents can use this book to teach their pre-school child the names of various animals. This book could also be used for the child to compose their own story by looking at cute illustration. This book may suit children of 2 up.
Available in hard cover and in simplified chinese. There are very few words in this book. Story is largely communicated through the use of colourful pictures. There is hanyu pinyin only on the diffcult words.
