Herbert is a German original, written by Daniela Chudzinski in 2006. This tale is based on a true story of a sheep in New Zealand, which was not sheared for 7 years. He left his flock and lived by himself for years. When he was finally found by the farmer, his fleece weighed a whopping 27kg! This book is the chinese translated version.
Monday is sheep-shearing day for everyone. All the sheeps lined up to be shaved, except Herbert. She loved her long wool because it makes her very special. It won her numerous awards. One day, the long fluffy wool got too warm and unbearable and so she decided to shear them off.
Instead of feeling sad, she feel good. Really good because in her heart, she knows that her precious wool has benefited someone else, and provide warmth to somebody who needs it more than her. What a sheep with character! :)
A meaningful and funny story. Available in soft cover and in simplified chinese. There is no hanyu pinyin in the book. For reading to the child, this book may suit children of 4 up. For self-read, this book would be recommended for children of 7 and above.
